Surveying and geomatics
work you can put your name on.

We're a Benin City-based firm doing land, engineering and geodetic surveys for government agencies, oil & gas operators and private clients across Edo and Delta States. Registered with SURCON and COREN — every job is signed off by someone qualified to sign it.

Environmental studies that
hold up under scrutiny.

Baseline studies, impact assessments, erosion and flood control work — the kind of reports that need to survive a regulator's second look, not just a first read.

Seismic, magnetic and
gravity survey work.

Our geophysics arm handles data acquisition and interpretation for energy and geotechnical clients, led by Prof. (Mrs) M.O. Ehigiator.

About the firm

Twenty years in the field, on paper since 2021

Geosystems and Environmental Engineering Limited (RC 1752231) was incorporated on 4 February 2021, but the practice itself goes back further — our founder and core team have been doing this work since 2005. We're a small, multidisciplinary outfit: geomatics, environmental engineering, and geoscience, under one roof.

The people doing the actual survey and analysis work are specialists in geodesy, GIS, remote sensing, civil engineering, and hydro-geophysics — not generalists. We also work with our sister company, Geo Info Survey and Engineering in Asaba, Delta State, under an MOU signed 25 June 2021, when a job needs a second field team.

Nothing goes out the door without a registered professional's name on it, and without someone other than the person who did the fieldwork checking it first.

What we do

Three disciplines, one field team

We combine technical expertise with modern instrumentation to deliver accurate, defensible results — from initial survey to final report. Select a discipline to see what's included.

Land, engineering & geodetic surveys

  • Engineering surveying & mapping
  • Geodetic surveys & GPS positioning
  • Topographical & property/layout surveys
  • Preliminary & full preparatory surveys for oil & gas prospecting
  • Aerial surveying, mapping & remote sensing
  • Digital mapping / GIS
  • Hydrographic & coastal works surveys
  • Deformation & ground-movement monitoring

Planning, design & management

  • Feasibility studies for infrastructure
  • Environmental planning, design & management
  • Baseline & environmental impact studies
  • Coastal erosion monitoring
  • Flood & erosion control
  • Irrigation & water resources development
  • Pollution & waste control management
  • Roads, bridges, culverts, dams & drainage construction

Subsurface data & interpretation

  • Seismic data acquisition & interpretation
  • Magnetic surveys
  • Gravity surveys
  • Geophysical surveys
  • Geological / geotechnical surveys & investigation

The instruments behind the numbers

Before any figure gets typed into a report, someone's out setting this up and checking it twice. Tap a marker below to see what each part actually does.

How we work

Aims & objectives

Not a mission statement — just what we actually hold ourselves to on site.

Attainable excellence

We'd rather deliver a result that's correct and on time than one that's dressed up. Figures get checked before they leave the office.

Trust & integrity

Most of our repeat clients came from a referral, not a pitch. We tell you when a survey is going to take longer than planned, not after.

Reliable solutions

The quote we give you at scoping is the quote you pay. No line items that appear halfway through the job.

From brief to deliverable

Our field process

A consistent five-stage workflow, regardless of discipline. Click a stage to see what happens.

01 — Scoping & site review

We review the client's brief, site boundaries, and existing records, then agree a scope, datum, and delivery timeline before any team is mobilised.

02 — Instrument setup & calibration

Total stations, GNSS receivers, and levels are checked and calibrated on site. Control points and benchmarks are established before any observation begins.

03 — Field data acquisition

Observations are logged directly to digital data collectors — angles, distances, elevations, GPS coordinates, or geophysical readings — depending on the discipline.

04 — Processing & QA review

Raw data is post-processed, adjusted, and cross-checked by a second reviewer against SURCON/COREN standards before any figure leaves the office.

05 — Report & handover

Final drawings, coordinates, or interpreted data are compiled into a signed, sealed report and delivered with supporting digital files.
